Stylish Blogger Award: Who knew I was Stylish!?

How exciting! I haven’t won an award in a while! M over at The Divine Ms. M, a very new blog buddy for me, thinks I’m stylish and apparently (!!!) I also made her top fifteen for recently discovered great bloggers! You really must go visit her. Not only is she hilarious, but she is HILARIOUS. She recently had a run-in with an outdoor staircase that had me cowered in a corner having flashbacks of climbing my own tower of terror and laughing hysterically because she did it in the dark. Why didn’t I think of that? Oh, right, because the only way to get to the beach is to climb this monstrosity, so not only did I have to climb it, I did it with a bikini on and beach paraphernalia loading down my arms. This was a few summers ago and you’ll find it unsurprising that I haven’t been a patron to that particular beach in quite some time! She’s plodding through NaBloPoMo too, so go give her some love. She’ll really appreciate it. Thanks M, for my shiny new award!

Always with the RULES:

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pay it forward to 15 recently discovered great bloggers.

I’m going to mix it up just a bit. I feel like after two hundred something posts, you probably know lots of random things about me. Lucky. (Ever go back and read a post and go “Oh My Stars! I totally forgot I did/do/like/dislike that!”? Well, it’s creepy.) Instead of seven things about myself, I thought I would share seven things about NaBloPoMo that I like/dislike or have learned. Since I’m about halfway through, I think I’ve pretty much got the hang of it.

1. NaBloPoMo has made me stretch my writing muscles again and some days it is excruciatingly painful. Some days I don’t post until later in the night because nothing has struck my fancy for the day. (I’m looking at you, Wordless Wednesday! Thank God for Professional Preggo Shots!!)

2. I have realized in the past week how much I miss blogging and the blog world in general. I miss being lost in my brain with words filing out of my finger tips like little soldiers onto a battlefield. I miss the friendships and the inside jokes, an odd thing considering blogs are public, but if you miss a post, you miss a joke. I’ve missed a couple of months of jokes. Thank God for Twitter or I would be completely lost in the sauce.

3. My husband supports me, even in the little things I do. I’m not sure why it took a month of dedicated blogging to realize this, but it did. The other day he asked me if I had written a blog for the day and I told him I hadn’t because I couldn’t think of anything to write about. His first suggestion was “You could write about me!”. Of course. I think he misses the days of being the center of attention.

4. People in real life will give you the side eye if you tell them you have to get home so you can write a blog because of NaBloPoMo. That’s uncomfortable.

5. I need to spend some quality time with my sidebar. I feel like this project would require lots and lots of coffee, the Word of the Day is still stuck on April. That’s only what, seven months of words ago? Head. Desk. Not to mention I love a lot more blogs now. And some of them have buttons! Not to mention, the menu bar! I have Food Fodder and Coffee Talk coming out of my ears. It’s just somehow never made it to the page. Slacker.

6. I’ve met some new people through this project and that’s never a bad thing. I love being around people who share a common passion, especially when they’re better at it than me. It’s fun to draw inspiration from them and to study their writing styles. It helps me develop my own writing style and forces me to become a better writer.

7. I’m afraid I won’t finish my month of blogging because my due date is looming and these babies are getting restless in there. They’re huge! I’m dedicated to finishing though, so all I can say is Thank God for WordPress for Droid!

I’ve come across a ton of new blogs since my last award. Here are some of them in no particular order. I urge you to check them out. You can’t go wrong with a new addition to your Google Reader!

Yes, WP for droid will probably save us all that want to know when the little ones arrive as well. :) Thanks for including me in your “new reading” list.

You’re welcome! I haven’t done the award thing since March so I know that around seventy percent of my Reader is “new”. Haha! Also, I have a feeling Twitter will be all the rage when I’m in labor! :D (I’m clearly an Addict.)
