Happy Friday the 13th!
Welcome to another Fill in the Blank Random Friday! Come link up with Lauren at the little things we do and with Shana at Fumbling Towards Normalcy!
* It’s been a rough week around here, even though Ryan has started working again. I think the stress of the past two weeks caught up with us and just blew up. Here’s to a relaxing weekend! It certainly helps that we have about twelve inches of snow hanging around from last night to keep us cozy. Getting out of the house was a little tricky this morning, though, what with the snow drift in front of the door and all.
** I’ve said every day for the past two weeks that I am going to paint my nails. Today is the day. This time I mean it. Really.

I even picked out a color!
*** I’m reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, and it’s making me feel like a complete numb skull. Honestly, when the character starts speaking in old Irish slang, I am lost without a map. I have eighteen days to finish this thing, and I’m barely through chapter 5. Someone save me. I thought reading The Classics would make me feel better about myself, but all it’s doing is chipping away at my pride. Neato. Do you have this problem when you read a book in an unfamiliar realm?
**** The one day I’m happy to have a blood line of Hungarian gypsies would have to be today. According to them, today is a lucky day. Take that, black cats. My mom has always told us to be excited about Friday the 13th, because the gypsy side of us would make it lucky. However, the kids on the bus thought I was full of shit, thus making my day seemingly unlucky. As an adult, I still look forward to today. You never know when it could actually turn out to be lucky! (Krysten is giving away an adorable Vivien Frank wish bracelet today, so in case you’re NOT Hungarian gypsy and need some more luck, check out her giveaway!)
***** Want some more random? All I’ve got is clean bunny slippers. They were feeling a little flat and looking pretty rough, so I threw them in the washer and they came out feeling and smelling like new! I was so excited, I posted it as my status on Facebook. {And I wonder why people think I’m a nerd.}
How ’bout some blanks?

Kallaydoscope is my view of my world. It’s colorful and intriguing and also, kind of a mess, if not always highly entertaining. Kaleidoscopes, in motion, are always changing, and with every turn they somehow become more and more beautiful. That’s the goal; in life and in this blog.

Yeah…classics. I did that once. When I got my first e-reader it came with 100 free classic novels. So I set out to read all 100. HAHAHAHA! I did make it through Wuthering Heights. And Turn of the Screw. And possibly The Fall of the House of Usher. It took me forever and then I gave up…because I felt completely stupid. There is no shame in giving up that dream.
Oh, thank God. I’ve been literally growing depressed over this. I mean, hello, I’m a WRITER, how can I not get through this? I *will* finish though. I have a few years to read 10 of them. *phew*
I’ve always kind of liked Friday the 13th oddly. Although a table did stiff me last night.
I have, too, but only because my mom told me to! Haha! I’ve never had a table stiff me before, but I *have* had someone leave a 10% tip which was horribly ridiculous. We were super slow and I doted on them. Some people are just assholes.
